Jesse Thurmon Kerry Obituary

Jesse Thurmon Kerry, “Bubba”, 90, a resident of Baker, LA, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm. On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, there will be a visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Baker from 9:00 am until funeral Mass at 11:00 am, conducted by Fr. Frank Bass. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Bates and her special friend Glen Fink of Zachary, LA; two sons: Michael J. Kerry and wife Terri of Florien, LA; Matthew J. Kerry and wife Trinel of Livingston, LA; two sisters, Margie Lodridge of Gorum, LA; Deloris Wagner of Pearland, TX; seventeen grandchildren: Brad Kerry, Jessica Bates, Christopher Bates, Erika Hilgenkamp, Melissa Syperek, Shannon Kerry, Chauntel Kerry, Mariah Kerry, Natasha Theriot, Daniel Authement, Savannah Authement, Matthew Authement, Dustin Gerald, Paul Gerald, Natalie Gerald, Dallas Burton and Josh McDonald; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vita “Edith” Kerry; daughter Barbara Kerry; parents Jesse and Bernice Kerry; brother Herman Kerry; and sisters Estelle Marino and Lois Venable. Pallbearers will be Christopher Bates, Dustin Gerald, Joey Marino, Mike Baumbach, Glen Fink, and David Bernard. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Korean War. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lane Regional Medical Center for their care throughout his illness.
