Maria Lisete Nunes passed away in Watsonville, Ca on Saturday July, 23, 2022 surrounded by her family. Maria was born on September 16, 1922 in Calheta Sao Jorge, Acores. She arrived to the United States in 1973. She loved to spend time with her family, dancing at Portuguese festas, and caring for her sunflowers, couves, and favas in her garden. Maria enjoyed watching the 49er’s, San Jose Sharks, and was a huge Porto fan. She loved everyone she met, and her goal was to keep everyone laughing and smiling. Maria Lisete will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Berta Parnell. Maria is survived by her siblings; Idilia Silva, Fatima Cascais (Armando), children; Maria Santos (Manuel), Helder Nunes, and Ana Harris, grandchildren; Melissa, Jennifer, Samantha, Justin, Marissa, Caitlynn, Quiana, Noah, Brittney, and Andrew, 9 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews in the Acores and Canada.

A rosary and mass service to be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Friday August 12, 2022 at 9:30 am. Burial to follow at Santa Cruz Memorial Park. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
