Margaret Louise White Obituary

Margaret Louise “Maggie” White of Englewood, Colorado, passed away August 3rd, 2022. Maggie was born in Kansas City, Mo to Vincent Paul and Virginia McDonnell on April 13th, 1941. She is survived by her beloved husband Willie, five children Lynn (Wally), Joe (Catherine), Julie (Ed), Holly, Nick, brother Mike (Barbara), 11 grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, She was preceded in death by her sister Paula, and her granddaughter, Virginia Grace. Maggie was a devoted wife to Willie. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She loved and supported him with his coaching and spent countless hours at the baseball field. She loved her role as a mother of five children; she gave her time volunteering as a room mother, a Brownie Troop leader, team mom and enjoyed her bowling league when the kids were at school. She spent the first part of her life in Kansas City and moved to Colorado with her family when she was starting high school. She attended South High School where Willie also attended and graduated a few years ahead of her. They met on a blind date and fell in love. They were married in 1962 and they had their first child in 1963. Margaret loved her family, was very creative and dabbled with Cake Decorating and Gift Basket Creations. She also loved to drive up the hill to Blackhawk and play the slots. After Margaret raised her children, she worked for the public school system for many years as a secretary to the principal and the counselors. She also worked as an Office Manager for a doctor’s office which she loved. Margaret’s greatest love, however, was her Grandchildren. She enjoyed making milkshakes with them, playing card games with them, and attending all of their sports games, music concerts and plays. She always loved to watch them perform, sing, and dance. All of her grandchildren have spoken of their fond memories with their grandmother, and her slumber parties are a glimmering highlight of their childhoods. Many of her grandchildren are lucky to have homemade items from Maggie like scrapbooks, quilts, aprons, clothing, and felt ornaments. They always knew which gift was from her at Christmastime, because it was always wrapped with the biggest, most beautiful bow. They will think of her thoughtfulness and love of gift giving each time they use her homemade gifts. Maggie cherished her many friendships. She looked forward to game day, playing bridge, doing arts and crafts, and making cards. She felt blessed to have so many friends from her school days, her workdays, her friends she shared with Willie, and her friends at their independent living home. She always shared wonderful stories about her friendships, and we will cherish them. We are grateful that she had so many sweet people who loved her. Margaret was a beautiful woman inside and out. We will miss her dearly, but feel peace that she is in heaven with no more pain or sorrow.
