Douglas Sloop
<p>Mr. Douglas Sloop age 79, of Pinnacle, passed away on August 5, 2022, at Forest Heights Senior Living Community in Winston-Salem.</p> <p>He was born on March 7, 1943, in Wilkes County, to the late Alvin and Minnie Anderson Sloop.</p> <p>Mr. Sloop worked at for the city of Winston-Salem as the City Garage Manager. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and raised doves for release at weddings and funerals in the later part of his life.</p> <p>He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Paul) Sanfilippo, of Lexington; grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Sanfilippo, Brandi Sanfilippo, and Jonathan Sanfilippo; and great grandson, Levi Sanfilippo.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, Mr. Sloop was preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Lee Marion Sloop; brother, Gary Sloop; and sister, Jean Grubbs</p> <p>Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 2:00pm at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel with Mark Leone officiating. Friends and family can pay their respects from 8:00am-12:00pm on the day of the service at the funeral home.
