Peter Mortensen passed away on August 1, 2022, surrounded by his wife, daughter and son in law after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 71 years old. Peter was born on February 18, 1951, in Queens, New York to Agnes and John Mortensen. Peter met JoAnn in 1987. The two became friends and fell in love with each other. They decided to get married on December 22, 1989. They then became blessed with a daughter, Aimee Price, in 1990. Peter worked as a truck driver for Shaw’s for 17 years. He loved his job and worked with some great people. He made many friends there and managed to create some great friendships that he carried with him for a lifetime. Peter then had a great opportunity to work for Walmart as an over-the-road driver. He worked there for 6 years and also made some special friendships that he held close to his heart. He called them his Walmart Family. He was a member of the Heart Team as well as Maine Professional Drivers Association. He donated some of his time to help with events and was always willing to help anyone. When Peter wasn’t working, he still had a passion to get into the car and drive. He also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a gentle and kind man. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. Peter was an amazing husband and father. Peter is survived by his wife JoAnn; daughter Aimee Price and her husband Richard Price; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. A funeral outside of mass will take place on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Hope Memorial Chapel at 1:00 pm, 480 Elm St, Biddeford, ME. Visitation will take place following the funeral, from 1:30 pm until 4:00 pm at Hope Memorial Chapel.
