<p>Linda Kay Compton, 72, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.</p> <p>Born July 29, 1950, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Maggie (Lucas) King.</p> <p>Linda was a graduate of North Vernon High School and worked as a waitress for Scooters Restaurant in Columbus for 15 years. She was a member of the Moose Family Center in North Vernon. Linda enjoyed going to the casino, planting flowers, watching hummingbirds. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.</p> <p>Survivors include her daughters, Crystale (Nick) Cohen and Carla Craft, both of North Vernon; companion, Harold McIntyre of North Vernon; brothers, Ronald Keith (Judy) King of Columbus and David Lee (Lucille) King of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Justice Antle of Seymour, Kiersten Ponder, Kristen Ponder, Katie Craft, Jayden Bridges, and Alexandria Cohen, all of North Vernon.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne King; and sister Rosemary Lambert.</p> <p>A funeral service for Linda will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &amp; Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Center in North Vernon with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.</p> <p>Memorials may be made in honor of Linda through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.</p>
