Linda Kay Compton

Linda Kay Compton, 72, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born July 29, 1950, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Maggie (Lucas) King.

Linda was a graduate of North Vernon High School and worked as a waitress for Scooters Restaurant in Columbus for 15 years. She was a member of the Moose Family Center in North Vernon. Linda enjoyed going to the casino, planting flowers, watching hummingbirds. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Crystale (Nick) Cohen and Carla Craft, both of North Vernon; companion, Harold McIntyre of North Vernon; brothers, Ronald Keith (Judy) King of Columbus and David Lee (Lucille) King of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Justice Antle of Seymour, Kiersten Ponder, Kristen Ponder, Katie Craft, Jayden Bridges, and Alexandria Cohen, all of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne King; and sister Rosemary Lambert.

A funeral service for Linda will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Center in North Vernon with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Linda through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
