Lewis N. Jones

Lewis Nelson Jones of Annapolis, MD died on July 17, 2022 after a brief illness. Lewis was born in Baltimore, MD on July 1, 1919 and had reached his 103rd birthday at his daughter Lynn’s home on July 1, 2022. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary-Ellen Taylor, his father, Lewis N. Jones, his mother, Gladys Joyce (Jones) Brady, and his sister Gladys Joyce (Jones) Duckwall. Lewis was a long-time presence on Market Street in Annapolis where he lived since 1960. Lewis was a career civil servant in the U. S. Postal Service facility at the U. S. Naval Academy. He served in the 6th U. S. Air Force during World War II stationed in London, England and after the D-Day invasion in Normandy, France. Lewis is survived by his brother James R. Brady, five children -- L. Kennerly (Ken) Jones of Asheville, NC, Ronald N. Jones (Dianne) of Columbia, MO, Lloyd T. Jones (JoAnn) of White Marsh, MD, Joyce Ellen Anibal of Horseshoe Bend, AR and Lynn L. Jones of Annapolis – ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 4th at the home of his daughter, Lynn. Donations in lieu of flowers should be sent to Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, 2000 Medical Parkway, Suite 604, Annapolis, MD 21401.
