Lora Nell Stone, 96, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on November 5, 2020, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley. She was born on June 16, 1924, in Yawkey, WV, daughter of the late Fred and Nan Wade McClure. Lora was born in Yawkey, WV. She graduated from Duval High School. She taught in a one room schoolhouse while attending Morris Harvey, working towards her degree in education. She was very active in the North United Methodist Church, and was also involved in the Ravenswood Senior Citizens. Lora was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She retired from Henry J. Kaiser Elementary in Ravenswood after 29 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Crispen; and her twin sister, Nora Bell McClure Stewart. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Hall of Fame Scholarship, 900 Lee Street #1600, Charleston, WV 25311, or the North United Methodist Church, PO Box 335, Ravenswood, WV 26164. Visitation for the public will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home. A procession will leave the funeral home at 2:00 pm for the graveside service at Ravenswood Cemetery with Ton Nolan officiating.
