Delores Jean Hilton, of Ravenswood, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on July 2, 2020 at her home. Delores was born to Arlie and Lucille (Maxson), July 13, 1937 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She graduated from Victory High School in 1955. She married Samuel Leroy Hilton on January 5, 1957, and they lived together in Ravenswood soon after. Together they raised four children. She leaves as her legacy four children: Samuel Dean Hilton (Maria Nieva Cervas), Mark Kevin Hilton (Barbara Anne Walton), Terry Denise Vankirk (Hilton) (Jeffery Dean Vankirk), and Brian Matthew Hilton (Angela Lynn Dopheid). Her children remember her as a gentle, loving, and encouraging mother, dedicated to her husband and her Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory nine grandchildren: Christina Marie Vankirk, Marissa Nieva Greene, Bethany Anne Schuetz, Andrew Mark Hilton, Mallory Dean Hilton, Rachel Grace Hilton, Maximus Samuel Hilton, Karis Rain Brooks, and Brixton Myles Hilton. She also leaves four great-grandchildren: Coralyn Rae Schuetz, Easton Thomas Schuetz, Brooklynn Ashley Hilton and Mila Nieva Greene. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel Leroy Hilton, siblings Eula Rose Lowther, Freda Gay Rhoades, Charles Short, Wayman Short, Billy Vance Short, and Shirley Gaines Pinta. Delores was a homemaker and served as a secretary at Second Baptist Church. She was passionate about encouraging others in her mild loving manner. She loved music, and was involved in singing for her Lord in the church choir, lady's trio and special music. She also loved playing the piano and gave piano lessons to many students over the years. A funeral service is scheduled for July, 6, 2020, 11:00 AM at Second Baptist Church, located in Ravenswood, West Virginia. A gravesite committal will follow at the Ravenswood Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Keffer will officiate the ceremony. The family would also like to thank the special caregivers that watched over and cared for her in such a loving manner.
