Josephine Mary Buckingham (nee Carnaggio) died in Ravenswood, West Virginia, on October 9, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was born April 21, 1924, in Baltimore, Maryland to James and Florence Carnaggio. She lived in Maryland until 2007, when she moved to Ravenswood to be near her daughter, Joyce, and her family. Josephine married the love of her life, Charles Buckingham, when he was home on leave during WW11. They were married for 74 years when Charles died in January 2018. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also proud of her work as a loan officer at Central Savings Bank in Baltimore and as an accountant at 40 West Volkswagen in Ellicott City. She was the hardworking heart both at work and in her family. She was preceded in death by her brother James in WW11 and her husband Charles in January of this year. She is survived by her daughters Joyce Kennedy (Chuck) of Ravenswood, and Carol Brannan (Rick) of Port Townsend, Washington; grandchildren Miciah Kennedy (Amanda), Nathan Kennedy (Lisa), Courtney Crane (Jon), Edward Brannan (Lesley; and 10 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Ravenswood at 1:00 pm Saturday October 27, 2018. Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, is in charge of arrangements.
