Lloyd Alfred “Bud” Stemple, Jr.
Lloyd Alfred "Bud" Stemple, Jr., 87, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on May 12, 2020, at his home. He was born on January 3, 1933, in Fairmont, WV, son of the late Lloyd Alfred Stemple, Sr. and Flossie Hoskins Floyd. Bud was an original member of the Ravenswood Volunteer Fire Department, coached Ravenswood Little League baseball for many years, and was an avid Mountaineer fan. He was a Methodist by faith. Bud was a cell operator at Kaiser Aluminum for 37 years, and retired in 1995 from Century Aluminum. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by the love of his life of 64 years, Mary A. Stemple; children, Buddy Stemple and wife Carol, Dale Stemple and wife Jackie. Bud adored his grandchildren, Stephen Stemple (Amanda), Kristina Stemple, and Hannah Stemple; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Gail in 1999; 1 brother; and 2 sisters. The family would like to give a special thank you to Jackson County Home Health; Kanawha Hospice; the doctors at UPMC; Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis; CAMC in Charleston, and our Long Street family for their support. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 12:00 pm at Ravenswood Cemetery with Reverend John Snyder officiating. The Fireman's Last Call will be provided by the Ravenswood Volunteer Fire Department at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ravenswood Volunteer Fire Department, 333 Virginia Street, Ravenswood, WV 26164. The service can be viewed on Facebook Live.
