He was born on December 1, 1964, in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was a mentor for Mountaineer Challenge; an apprentice at IBEW Local Union 968; former member of USWA Local 5668; a certified welder, and laborer at Niche Polymer. Eric was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Gulf War. He is survived by his mother, Linda Johnson; wife, Tammy Metts Rhodes; children, Hannah Rhodes, and Jessica Beckham; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, William, Alexis, Emily, Alphie, and Anna. Eric was raising his grandson William like a son. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Rhodes; maternal grandparents, Bud and Ruby Cochran; and former wife, Lisa Ann. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Pastor Mark Price officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 31, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
