Shamblin, 81, of Cavin Fork, Ravenswood, WV, passed away on December 19, 2019, after a long illness. He was born on January 22, 1938, in Jackson County, son of the late Otmer and Oressie Lanham Shamblin. He was retired from the Jackson County Board of Education and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 132. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Olaf, Corby, and Shelva; and sister, Katherine Myers. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Virginia Casto Shamblin; son, Michael Eugene Shamblin (Nancy); grandchildren, Zachery and Ashley Shamblin; sisters, Orean Johnson, Loshie Baldwin (Richard); and several nieces and nephews. In the later years of his life he loved spending time on his farm with his family and friends, including his faithful companion, Poke. The funeral service will be held at Roush Funeral Home on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Enoch Pursley officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, December 21, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, time of service.
