Parsons, Jr. Tommy E. Speece, 91, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on October 1, 2016, at Eldercare of Ripley, WV. He was born on April 27, 1925, in Woodsfield, Ohio, son of the late David F. and Dolly Smith Speece. Tommy had been employed at Trentle-Blake Pottery in Ravenswood and was a self-employed farmer. He is survived by his children, Betty (Wilford) Hafer of Ravenswood, Barbara Benson of Ravenswood, Willard (Emily) Speece of Dexter City, OH, Elizabeth (Perry) Myers of Ravenswood, and David (Judy) Speece of Tulsa, OK; many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Ann Minear of Vienna, WV, Jesse Nesselroad of Parkersburg, WV, and Edna Dugan of Marietta, OH; brother, Rob Speece of Parkersburg, WV; sister-in-law, Ona Patterson of Ravenswood; and good friend, Edward "Slick" Elliot of Ravenswood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Charlotte, Linda, Maxine, and Edward; brother, Webb; sisters, Virginia and Edith; his children's mother, Evine; one great grandson, Justin; and 1 great granddaughter, Michelle. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 12:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor S. R. Parsons, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
