She was born August 26, 1941, in Buckhannon, WV, the daughter of Arthur and Hazel Wade. Besides being predeceased by her parents, she also was predeceased by her beloved, husband Thomas J., sister and nephew; Helen L. Cochran and Keith Cochran. Carol was a graduate of Webster Springs High School with the class of 1959, and WV Wesleyan College in 1963 with a BS in Business Administration. She was employed by local companies as a bookkeeper for several years. She was a fifty-year member of First United Methodist Church and held numerous committee positions with the most recent as a member of the Board of Trustees. She has co-chaired a bi-annual indoor sale for many years raising funds for missions for United Methodist Women. She was past president and treasurer for United Methodist Women as well as for the No Hunger Food Pantry. She served on the Board of Directors of the pantry and was an original member. She is survived by her much-loved children, Lesa R. Carter, Portsmouth, OH; Thomas Jason Carter (Lisa), Walkersville, MD; and Rebecca S. Parrish, Raleigh, NC. Cherished grandchildren: Thomas Andrew Carter, Sarah Ann Carter, Connor Lamont, Jason Landon, and Raina Elise Parrish. She is survived also by a niece Velinda Cochran Sabo, nephew, John Paul Cochran, a great niece Erin Szabo Cox and a dear cousin, Billie Kay Morton Horner and her family. Visitation and services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Flinn Street on Friday, November 8th from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday, November 9th from 10am to 11am, with the service starting at 11am. Burial will follow the services at the Ravenswood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the No Hunger Food Pantry or First United Methodist memorial fund.
