He was born on July 28, 1961, in Murraysville, WV, son of Reda and Dana Staats of Ravenswood. He loved to hunt and play music. He also loved being outdoors and being with his family. He was a laborer with Southern Building Systems for 20 plus years. He is survived by his sons, Charles Staats of Ravenswood and Jason Staats of Kenna, WV; parents, Reda and Charles Dana Staats of Ravenswood; brother, Mark (Missy) Staats of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Kierstin, Makaydin, Katelynn, and Alaska Staats; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Cliff in 2010. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 20, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
