Johnathan Andrew Takle Obituary

Johnathan lived life to the fullest, always ready for the next outdoor adventure calling on the horizon. He embraced the beauty in everything around him, capturing moments of awe and wonder over and over again. He felt closest to God when out in His creation. Born the oldest of three boys, Johnathan naturally took the lead with many fearless adventures to follow. He was Thomas and Nathaniel’s protector and taught them much. When they were young, Johnathan would hold their hands when crossing the street without being asked and looked out for them when they were all together. They explored the creek behind the house, and then went on to great adventures at the cabin, in the mountains, rivers and trails of the Northwest. Johnathan lived his entire life in the state of Oregon, enjoying the abundance of the outdoors of the Northwest. He loved skiing, especially in the backcountry, mountain climbing, rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing, rafting, hiking, and all things outside whenever possible. Bonus if he could do multiple activities in a day! His eye for beauty was artistically communicated to many through the lens of his camera. He captured the essence of a sunset, an eclipse over a snowcapped mountain, and a comet in the serene night sky. He loved the challenges and technical requirement of photography. His talents landed him opportunities to help market for many local companies, as he combined his passions for adventure and work whenever possible. With his entrepreneurial spirit, he started his own company, as an adventure photographer at Latitude 44 Media Solutions, in 2020. Johnathan attended Emmaus Christian School for K-8th and graduated from Glencoe High School in Hillsboro in 2016. Johnathan played many sports throughout the years and loved lacrosse. He went on to study at Central Oregon Community College in Bend and then at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. He was pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management. He also worked on campus at Dixon Recreational Center within the Adventure Leadership Institute, as a rock-climbing center specialist, and instructed hundreds of students in rock climbing basics. As a professional instructor for rock climbing and certified in wilderness first aid, he was always prepared with extra gear ready to help anyone in need. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching and equipping others to appreciate his enthusiasm for the outdoors. His love for his friends is evident in all the memories shared. He always made time for each one, and had long, meaningful conversations about many topics. He was always there for his friends to help when needed. He invited and introduced many to his love of the outdoors. Those that have connected with his adventurous spirit are planning to continue their outdoor adventures to honor Johnathan. He will be so very missed, but we know we will meet again, because of his saving faith in Jesus Christ. He lived and loved well. His legacy is to embrace life, live fearlessly, and love deeply. He is survived by his parents, Andrew and Kristina Takle; brothers, Thomas and Nathaniel; grandparents, CDR Lawrence Lyford and Mrs. Florence Lyford; Marlene Takle; many aunts and uncles and cousins that will miss the color and depth that Johnathan brought to the entire family. He was welcomed in heaven by his grandparents LCDR Francis Miller, Robert Takle, Maureen O’Brien, and cousin Jeremy Goodwin. A Celebration of Life will be held August 13th at 11 am at Evergreen Christian Center, 4400 NW Glencoe, Hillsboro, OR. Memorials can be sent in Johnathan Takle’s name to Corvallis Mountain Rescue and Deschutes County Search and Rescue. The family would like to inform everyone who cannot attend the Celebration of Life in person that arrangements have been made to have it livestreamed. Plans are also being made to have the service recorded and available for distribution later. The LIVE STREAM link is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_UXKd5sJ36nePoH8uZu9mw
