<p>Carolyn Kay Janes, age 73 of Griggsville, IL, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at her residence. She was born July 27, 1949, in Pittsfield, IL, to Leroy & Helen (McDonald) Gratton.</p> <p> </p> <p>Carolyn grew up in Pittsfield and later moved to Griggsville to raise her family. She worked at Pittsfield Healthcare and was a factory worker at Tate Cheese. Carolyn enjoyed fishing and casinos, but her real obsession was playing bingo. She loved her grandchildren, her cat “Sassy,” and taking rides in the country.</p> <p> </p> <p>Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Anthony Reveal) Jones of Griggsville, Christina Jones of Griggsville; grandchildren, Billie (Anthony) Blackburn of Kentucky and Angela Reveal of Griggsville; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew Gratton; two sisters, Nancy Clostermery and Wanda Sneeden, both of Griggsville; and several nieces and nephews.</p> <p> </p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy & Helen (McDonald) Gratton; a grandson, Timothy Surratt; a brother, Gerald McDonald; a sister, Dixie Lacy; and a nephew, Nathan Embree.</p> <p> </p> <p>Services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, with visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pittsfield will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family c/o of Niebur Funeral Home.
