Anthony "Tony" Ricci Dobbs Ferry, New York Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Ricci

Anthony J. Ricci, 60, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2016 after a five-year battle with cancer. Born and raised in Dobbs Ferry, NY, "Tony" brought the town more than just good sandwiches in Ricci's Deli. Hundreds will remember him as an overly appreciative man who loved giving "thanks." Others will remember him as the friendly and familiar face that welcomed them every morning. His family will remember him as a loving husband, a wonderful father, a loyal son, and a protective brother. Anthony successfully owned and operated Ricci's Deli for 25 years before messing around with some other career adventures and eventually moving his family to St. Augustine, FL. His family meant the world to him, and moving down south allowed him to provide a better life for his wife and children. Tony was a friend to all that knew him. He was a man of his word and the person to turn to when in a bind. If you were friends with him from a young age, you were familiar with his trickster tactics and love of life. His smile and fun sense of humor was infectious. He was "the man" and will be missed by many. Tony is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ursula, his daughters Gabrielle and Marissa, his parents Eda and Rocco Ricci, and his brother, Vincent Ricci and his partner Tracy Mako. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Because this is a celebration of his life, colorful clothing is encouraged! It is also requested that Instead of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude, Tony's favorite charity.
