Beverly Ann Levine

Beverly Ann Greenfeder Levine, widow of Joseph Levine and resident of Ardsley, NY since 1966, passed away Monday, September 10th at the age of 76 following a short battle with cancer. Beverly was an enthusiastic and active participant in the Ardsley community. She served on the Ardsley School Board and the Ardsley PTA. She was also a member of the Board of Education of Southern Westchester BOCES from 1984 to 2012. She worked as Oversees Liason at the Ford Foundation for 19 years until her retirement in 2003. In retirement, Beverly continued to serve her community. She served three terms as Village Trustee, President of both the Ardsley Library Board of Trustees and the Ardsley Historical Society, of which she was a founding member. Her service led to The Village of Ardsley honoring her in 2005 by declaring her 70th birthday to be "Beverly Levine Day," and naming her village historian. In recent years, Beverly pursued her love of music. She studied singing and performed at many gatherings. She was a lifelong Yankee fan who enjoyed attending games with her family. Beverly's love of travel and discovery took her around the world, both during her years at the Ford Foundation and in retirement. Mrs. Levine is survived by her children, Michael, Richard and Susan; her brother, Jack Greenfeder; and grandchildren Emily, Daniel, Brian and Rachel. Services will be held at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, Dobbs Ferry, NY at noon, Saturday, September 15, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
