Darleen E. Yuhas Dobbs Ferry, New York Obituary

Darleen E. Yuhas

After a brief illness, which she fought with courage, determination and humor, Darleen Eleanor Yuhas died at Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Hospital in NYC, on February 28, 2016, she was 58 years old. Born in Yonkers, New York to Mitro and Eleanor Yuhas, Darleen attended public schools in Yonkers graduating from Charles E. Gorton High School in 1975. She went on to earn a BS in Psychology from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry. Darleen was employed as a Stagehand at IATSE Local 632. She received her IA card in 2002. She loved music and live entertainment and worked in the field, such as arenas, theatres and stadiums for a major Audio Company, as well as Television and Feature Films in NYC. In recent years, she cared for her brother Michael, who suffered from a terminal illness. Michael John passed in June of 2015. He survived for eleven years after being told he only had two years to live. A witnessing of oversight, encouragement and love of her family. A spirited and courageous soul, Darleen was a proud owner of a Harley Davidson Night Train. She loved riding, the wind in her hair and the sun warming her face. One of her favorite places was the "fishing spot" in Tuxedo, NY. If she was in an especially good mood, she would give the fish a little kiss before throwing them back in after the catch. Darleen was a deeply kind and compassionate person. She had a keen sense of humor and would know when you needed her most. She gave of herself freely and in the end the gratification and comfort by the outpouring of support and love of family and friends, eased her pain. Darleen was predeceased by her parents, Mrs. Eleanor A. Yuhas and Mr. Mitro J. Yuhas, her brother, Michael J. Yuhas, her Aunt Peggy nee Yuhas Adamovich. Surviving are Uncle Peter Yuhas and Aunt Doris with their two children, two of her siblings, sisters Denise A. Berletic, Deborah M. Yuhas-Shembeda, Stephen Berletic, nephews Luke and Brad Berletic, brother in law, William E. Shembeda, Aunt Emily Roth, cousins Jodi Adamovich, Sherry Williams, Jack, and their daughter Jennifer Martinez and husband Jerry, and their three children, Susan Ungaro and husband Sal, and their three children, Richard Roth and his wife, and his three children. Most importantly, Mr. Juan Rivera, Darleen's fiance, who loved her dearly. Visiting: Saturday March 19, 2016, 1-3 pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Service at 2:00 pm. My condolences to family and friends. May memories shared at happier times be comforting especially during these immediate days of grief. We are assured by the God of love that he will wipe all tears from our eyes along with death and pain Revelation 213-5.
