Robert Henry Nelson, 75 a long time resident of Hastings-on-Hudson passed away on February 2, 2015. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Henry and Janette Nelson. Robert graduated from the University of Illinois obtaining his Bachelor's Degree. While attending college, he met the love of his life Bonnie Kaplan. On January 25, 1964 Robert married Bonnie in Champaign - Urbana, Illinois. In 1969, they settled in Hastings-on-Hudson and have been residents for 45 years. Robert owned and operated his own advertising, sales and marketing company. He was the proud president of Nelson & Miller Associates, Inc. Robert had a deep passion for cooking and entertaining. He loved cooking so much, he would read cook books in his leisure time. He also enjoyed international and domestic traveling but he especially enjoyed visiting his home in Cape Cod. Robert was an artist at heart. He was an avid photographer and painter and felt at ease with either a camera or paintbrush. He was a member of the Hastings Creative Arts Council RiverArts and was the past president of the National Association of Publishers Representatives. Robert was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter Stefanie Francine Nelson Michael Dollar, granddaughter Freya Kristeen Dollar, sister Sheila Crook and by many extended family and friends. Robert was predeceased by his daughter Kristeen Lisa Nelson in 1982. Funeral Service 10:00am Saturday Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home with visiting from 9-10am.
