Marco P. Barbarin

Marco P. Barbarin passed on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at his home in Sea Girt with family by his side. He was 104 years old, born in Flushing, New York on September 21, 1910, the son on Frank Hyde and Sarah Cruse Barbarin. He graduated from Hastings-on-Hudson High School and obtained a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma and Pi Mu Epsilon Fraternities, the Bucknell Tennis Team and Varsity Basketball Team. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He served as a Deacon in the Dutch Reformed Church while living and raising his family in Pompton Lakes. He retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron as a Sales Engineer and resided in Fair Haven with his loving wife of 69 years, Elizabeth Munro Barbarin, who predeceased him. He spent the last nine years living near the beach in Sea Girt, enjoying time with his family and relishing his daily trips to the boardwalk where he made many friends over the years. He celebrated his 100th birthday deep sea fishing, living his life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who came to know him. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Ann Junta of Somerset and Jacqueline Noone of Sea Girt, and his cherished grandchildren, Jodi Rosso, Tucker Marc Cusick, Sandra Villars, Tara Elizabeth Cusick DeCastro and Travis William Cusick, along with eleven great grandchildren. His brother, Frank Barbarin, and sister, Anita Freudenberg predeceased him. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, New York on Saturday, October 25th at 12:00 pm following visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
