Maria Meri Pablo, 85 of Hartsdale, NY died on February 2, 2012. She was born in Banes, Oriente, Cuba, daughter of Pedro and Caridad Pablo. Maria came alone to the US in 1957. She came for a better life and more opportunities, showing how completely self-reliant and courageous she was. She was a beautician before working for the United States Postal Service. Maria enjoyed sewing and going to the theatre. She loved spending time in Manhattan and everything the city had to offer especially the museums and restaurants. Maria enjoyed traveling. She had a tremendous love for her family who always came first and was an inspiration to everyone who met her. Maria had a great sense of humor, in spite of all of her challenges and illness. Maria was a kind, giving person always ready to help others. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by daughters Maritza Bestenny, Marlene Pablo Arbeeny and Yamel Pablo Mandese, grandson Justin James Mandese and wife Christine great grandson Christian Joseph Mandese, sisters Reyna Butcher, Zaida Legra, Effie Montoya and Yamel Pablo and many nieces and nephews She was predeceased by brothers Aldo, Pedro and Navi Pablo. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Lung Association. would be appreciated at 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004 Funeral Service 11:00AM Saturday, Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home Visiting 9-11AM Saturday.
