Mary Cremin

Mary Kate Cremin, a Hartsdale resident, passed away on Saturday August 25, 2018 at the age of 92. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale, NY. She was born in Magheraboy, Kilmovee, County Mayo, Ireland to the late Patrick and Mary (Duffy) Cassidy. At the age of seventeen Mary left Ireland to be a nanny in England. In 1950 she arrived in New York harbor on the RMS Queen Elizabeth Ocean Liner. She lived in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Dobbs Ferry before moving to Hartsdale. Mary was a waitress at Schrafft's Restaurant in NYC & Eastchester NY. In later years she was a waitress then receptionist at the Scarsdale Golf Club. She enjoyed having tea with friends, spending time with family and traveling to Ireland. She enjoyed summer vacations in the Catskill mountains in the town of East Durham. She was married in September 5, 1953, at St. Joseph's Church in Brooklyn, and is predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel J. Cremin. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Mary Mosiello and brothers, Patrick, John and Michael Cassidy. Mary is survived by two daughters, Noreen and her husband Christopher Watson of Leonia, NJ, Elaine and her husband James Danyko of Westchester, a son Daniel and his wife Susan Cremin of Franklin Tennessee and nine grandchildren: Nicole, Patrick, Katherine, Daniel. John, Cassidy, Madeline, Jamie, and Michael. Visitation is Wednesday at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale, NY. Burial follows at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
