AJ Gelardi-Hongach

AJ Gelardi-Hongach, 28, passed away February 17th, 2021. He was born March 10th, 1992 in Sleepy Hollow, NY, the son of Dawn Gelardi and Andrew Hongach. A loving son, brother, and grandson, AJ is survived by his mother Dawn Gelardi, his father Andrew Hongach and his wife Corinne, sister Jacqueline Gelardi-Hongach, brothers Andre Hongach, Timmy Meszaros, Trevor and Chase Hongach; his Grandparents Gail and William Gelardi and Edith Hongach, as well as several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. AJ is a veteran of The Global War on Terror and served overseas in Operation Enduring Freedom and in Korea. He also selflessly volunteered to serve three contracts as private security detail in Afghanistan. AJ served valiantly as a machine gun crewman and gunner and was honorably discharged as a Specialist earning the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge. Wake services will be held Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 from 3-9pm at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on February 25th, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington, NY, and he will then be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery. Friends, family, and loved ones are encouraged to attend.
