Raymond M. Linares, Jr. Obituary

Raymond M. Linares, Jr., 56, passed away after a long, brave fight with colon cancer on October 6, 2010. He was born in Bronx, NY on April 28, 1954 to Raymond and Eufemia Linares. Raymond retired from the U.S. Navy in 1993 after 20 years of service. After retiring from the Navy, Ray, a.k.a. Lucky, worked as a cross country truck driver for a number of years. His passions included riding his Harley, music and movies. He also enjoyed bringing as much nature as possible into his yard by building duck houses and hanging bird houses so that he could sit back and watch them go about their lives. He is survived by his mother, Eufemia, his wife, Susan, his three children, Lisa, Raymond III, and Nicholas, two sisters, Leonor and Mary Lynn and many nieces and nephews. Raymond has lived in Florida for the past 20 years but his heart has always been in New York where he has chosen keep his final resting place. Visiting Sunday, October 10th, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place at 9:30 AM, Monday, October 11th, 2010; at the Funeral Home; followed by Entombment at the Rosewood Mausoleum at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road; Hartsdale, New York 10530 Gate 2.
