E. Tunney Maher, Jr. 51, a long time Hastings-on-Hudson resident died February 22, 2010. He was born in Yonkers, NY to Eugene Tunney Maher, Sr. and the late Lois M Dunn Maher .Tunney worked as a Rehabilitation Technician at St. Cabrini Nursing Home for over 30 years. He ran the the CYO Basketball Program at St. Matthew's, his life long passion for 32 years. He was the current president of the Southside Club, a member of the Hastings-on-Hudson Democratic Party, also coached Little League in Hastings. He was citizen of the year and was also honored by the Archdiocese of New York and Church of St. Matthew RC. He is survived by his father, brothers, Dave Kathy and Don Irene, sister Nora Maher, nieces and nephews Colleen, Eamonn, Beth Ian, Allison, Kaitlin, and Rebecca. He was predeceased by his mother in 1990 Mass of the Resurrection 9:45 Saturday Church of St. Matthew RC, Hastings-on-Hudson Visiting 2-4 and 7-9PM Thursday and Friday, Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
