April L. Grande

April Lynn Grande, age 48, of Darien, CT passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2020. She is survived by her father Gerard Grande and his wife Kathryn of Narragansett, RI; her children Jackson and Abigail Shearn; her stepbrother Cory Lowe of Aspen, CO, and her former husband Eric Shearn of Shelton CT. Her mother Christina Jones of Las Vegas, NV also survives her. April grew up in Westchester and Putnam Counties in NY. Her most cherished childhood memories are from time she spent in Dobbs Ferry with her beloved grandparents Christopher and Frances Grande. She attended Fox Lane High School, where she was an avid field hockey player, and finished high school in San Diego CA. She earned a Corporate Assistant Certificate from Gibbs College and became an Administrative Assistant at Stew Leonard's in CT. She followed that with a career at UBS, where she enjoyed a variety of positions over 20 years. April was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was spending time with her children. She loved being a part of their many activities, watching them play sports, and creating holiday traditions as she remembered them from her childhood. She also spent many hours with her children helping the homeless and volunteering at Hope for Recovery. A visitation in April's memory is scheduled for Saturday, October 10 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
