Leland Rogan Obituary

Longtime resident of Irvington, Leland (Lee) Rogan, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2020 at age 68 surrounded by his wife and two daughters. He will be remembered for his warmth and kindness, his amiable personality, his quick wit, and his story-telling. Lee was born on July 23, 1952 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Catherine and Charles Rogan. He received his degree in Business from Pace University in White Plains in 1975 where he met his wife of 44 years, Deborah, the love of his life. He married Deborah on August 7, 1976 and together they raised their two daughters, Lauren and Kate, whom he adored. Lee worked in the advertising industry in New York City for much of his career. He worked as a Senior Vice President at Saatchi & Saatchi before entering into a partnership to establish Bochanis Rogan Zoom (BR Zoom), an advertising agency in Connecticut and Louisiana. Lee retired in 2018 after over 40 years in the business. Lee had numerous hobbies that fulfilled him and provided him with joy. He was a passionate golfer, spending every Saturday golfing with his friends no matter the weather. He was also an avid cook who found time to prepare a Sunday meal for his family every weekend in order to gather his loved ones together in his home. Lee spent countless hours in his vegetable garden in the spring and summer and loved to share his produce with his neighbors, family, and granddaughters. While Lee often traveled for work, he most enjoyed traveling with his family every summer. Lastly, Lee found pleasure in reading. It was rare to see him without a cup of coffee and his Kindle when leaving the house. Lee was a devoted husband, father, "Poppy", brother, and friend. He was a calming presence that brought positivity and joy to every moment that he shared with those he loved. His most enjoyable times were spent with his family. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Rogan; his two daughters, Lauren Capuano and Kate Arpaia; his sons-in-law, Lenny Capuano and Gianpaolo Arpaia; his two granddaughters whom he cherished, Faith and Valentina Capuano; his sister, Cathy Qualey; his niece, Jennifer Robinson and his nephew, Ryan Robinson. Lee was buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery following a private ceremony for family on September 28, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lee's name to Regional Hospice and Palliative Care via https://regionalhospicect.org or checks payable to Regional Hospice: 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
