Anthony "Tony" Terraforte

Tony (Anthony) R. Terraforte, 76 of Dobbs Ferry, NY, passed on January 13th 2020. He was born on June 27th, 1943 to Anne and Joseph Terraforte. Tony attended Yonkers High School and graduated from the City College of NY with a Bachelors in Political Science and a Masters in Education. Tony worked for over twenty years as a highly respected teacher in the Hastings-on-Hudson School District. Tony was an active member on the Hastings Benefit Fund and involved in local politics throughout his life. Tony was an amateur bowler, enjoyed attending the Theater, and was always up to debate a controversial topic. He is survived by his daughters, Leighann and Megan Terraforte and is the dear brother to Jean, Anne, Bob and Joe Terraforte. The family will receive friends at Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Avenue, Dobbs Ferry, NY on Thursday 1/16 from 3-7pm. Services will be held on Friday 1/17 at 10:00 AM at Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home. I am so sorry for your loss. I was one of Mr. Terraforte's students and he was a special and caring man who dared to be himself and different and treated us as people, not just kids. He made an impact and he made a difference. He is missed.

So sorry to hear about this. Both my children had Mr.Terraforte as their fourth grade teacher. He was a tough teacher but they learned so much from him. Knowledge that has stayed with them into their adulthood.
