James Michael Lee

James Michael Lee, of Hastings-on-Hudson passed away suddenly shortly before New Years, 2020, at the age of 60 from a heart condition. Michael was born in Sacramento, California, and moved with his family to Claremont, California, and then Kailua, Hawaii, and finally to Hastings on Hudson, New York, where he attended High School. He went to college at Boston University and had a degree in Geology. Michael worked for many years at Rivertowns Taxi in Hastings, which was like a second family, having friends among the drivers and customers. Michael loved animals; he always had a cat, often an adopted stray, and kept fish. He was an avid builder of scale-model airplanes, ships and tanks. He was a talented artist. He enjoyed skiing and golfing on family vacations with his brothers. He is survived by his older sister Deborah Lee; by his younger brother Brian Lee, Brian's wife Oya, and their children Geoffrey, Jonathan and James; and by his younger brother Kevin Lee and Kevin's wife Gina. Michael was predeceased by his father, Robert William Lee, and by his mother, Claire Lee. Michael was cremated and his ashes will be spread with his parents. St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Hastings-on-Hudson will offer a Mass for him on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 9 am. A memorial gathering is being planned.
