Cesidia "Ninella" DeRubeis, 87, passed away on April 22, 2017, after a long illness. Born in San Donato Val di Comino, Italy, to Vittoria and Nunziato Piselli, she spent her early years in San Donato, enduring the hardships of WWII and the occupation. There she met and married Guido DeRubeis. They, with their young son, Loreto, moved to the United States in 1955 and the family settled in the Bronx. They moved to Dobbs Ferry in 1995 to be nearer to their son and his family. Cesidia loved to walk through the village, taking time to chat with neighbors and shop owners. She also loved to cook for her family, especially the dishes particular to her region in Italy. Cesidia is survived by her son, Loreto, daughter-in-law Marilyn DeRubeis, grandsons Matthew and Marc DeRubeis, from Dobbs Ferry, sister-in-law Ana Piselli, and many nieces and nephews. One sister and two brothers reside in Europe. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Guido, in 1996, and by three brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers family would like donations to the American Heart Association.
