Estelle Eiger Obituary

Estelle Eiger, 89, of White Plains, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Estelle was born in New York to Gertrude and Leon Katz. She grew up in New York City and married Edward Eiger in 1951. Estelle was a member of the inaugural class of the Fashion Institute of Technology FIT and was the recipient of the Alexander Medal for Fine Art. Estelle worked as a textile artist for M. Lowenstein & Co. and Victory Studios. She as a prolific artist: inducted into the Salmagundi Club, The American Artists Professional League, the Allied Artists of America and The Art Student's League. Estelle received numerous medals for her artwork, including the Philip Eisenberg Memorial Award and the Harry L Bollenger Memorial Award. Estelle lived a long and successful life. She was a caring mother and wife, who inspired others with her love of art and creativity. Estelle is survived by her children: Deborah and Janet, and her grandchildren: Erica, Joseph, and Emily and her other loving family members.
