Kathleen Elizabeth (Higgins) Glass of Dobbs Ferry passed away at home on Monday, May 18th, 2020. She was born in Philadelphia on October 16th, 1941. Kathy attended Nazareth Academy and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University in 1963, shortly after the school began accepting women into the program. She used her degree to pursue a lifelong career in psychiatric nursing, starting at NY Presbyterian/NYC in the mid-1960s, Phelps Memorial from the 1970s to the 1990s, and then returning to NY Presbyterian/White Plains almost two decades ago, until February of this year. She loved working with others, managing the care of the patients and helping anyone in need. Kathy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cherished the time spent with her family. She loved the beach and found great joy in staring at the sea while sitting under an umbrella with her sisters. She reveled in the accomplishments of her three grandchildren, her daughter and son-in-law, and took pride in cheering on her granddaughters at lacrosse games and watching her grandson play basketball and surf. Kathy followed her Villanova Wildcats team every basketball season and was thrilled to have created a legacy of alumnae with her daughter and two granddaughters. She loved life, had an incredibly positive attitude, and always knew just the right thing to say. She will be missed deeply and is survived by her daughter, Beth and husband Tim Toolen; her three grandchildren, Julia, Devin and Jack; and her siblings, Joann Naticchione, Maureen (Bill) Lang, John (Peggy) Higgins and Sheila King.
