Paolo Paul D'Angelo

Paolo Paul D'Angelo, 85, of Dobbs Ferry, passed away on August 26, 2016 in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. A memorial service celebrating Paul's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home on Ashford Ave. in Dobbs Ferry, NY, with light repast to follow. Interment will be arranged privately by the family. Paul was born in Ariano Irpino Italy to Raffaele and Filomena D'Angelo on July 29, 1931. He married Anna Gemma on August 18, 1962 in the village of Zungoli, Italy, then immigrated to the United States. He owned and managed a business as a custom tailor in the village of Dobbs Ferry, NY for over 40 years, where he was proud to sew honorific patches on the uniforms of the village's police force and firefighters. He was involved with the Embassy Club and the Sons of Italy in Dobbs Ferry, and enjoyed celebrations of Italian heritage. Paul was a loving and gentle husband and father who enjoyed the company of his four grandchildren. He had a special love for horse racing, soccer and was an avid reader. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Antonio, Ciriaco, and Carmine D'Angelo. He is survived by his wife Anna, his daughters Anna Maria Heidgerd and Sandra D'Angelo- Pangerl and grandchildren, Tyler Heidgerd, Jessica Pangerl, Davin Heidgerd and Michael Pangerl. He is also survived by his brother, Silvio D'Angelo of Westgate, England. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department or Dobbs Ferry Police Benevolent Association. The family of Paul D'Angelo wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Andrus nursing home in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and the Calvary hospice program for the wonderful care and love shown to Paul in the later years of his life.
