Gladys Cecilia Delay

Born December 10th,1940 the third child of Benjamin Gramig and Jewell Anson. She graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1958. Where she was a good student, who loved to sit in the front of the class. She always did her homework and had lots of friends yet was not a crowd follower.

Gladys’ first marriage in 1962 to Robert Arthur whom she met in high school, brought forth two children Kecia Doll in 1965 and Jason Arthur in 1968.

Gladys Married again in January 1986 to Don Delay whom she met while working for Xerox. Don and Gladys had their first date at Spoons and made it their favorite Happy Hour spot. It was always Happy Hour somewhere for these two. The two of them loved to party.

Don introduced Gladys to traveling the world. He was her perfect tour guide. Don would get travel brochures and do research before trips so everything was planned out. He was like walking history book. He could recite every battle, war and date for every location he and Gladys went. We always told him his retirement career should be tour guide in Europe.

Gladys and Don were so silly and goofy and had so much fun together. We cherish the memories of the stories they would tell us of their travels. They told us “Travel, Go see the world”. Mom made us promise to go to Europe and experience what they had.

They were such a laid-back couple and really did “live and let live”
