Beatrice E. Amend

Beatrice E. Amend, 97, of Cranbury, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at The Elms of Cranbury-LTC in Cranbury, NJ. Born in Yonkers, NY and raised in Queens, NY, Beatrice was a student at the High School of Music and Art in New York City. She worked as a secretary for Sperry Rand Corp. in New York City for many years and, later in her career, for the NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) in Princeton, NJ. In her spare time, Beatrice was an artist who loved painting and pastel drawing. Predeceased by her parents, Albert H. and Marie U. (Hodgkins) Amend and her brother, Albert E. Amend; she is survived by her brother, Charles W. Amend; her nephews/niece, Philip Amend, Edward Amend and Aileen (Amend) Fenton; and her grandnephews/grandnieces, Joseph Amend, Robbie Fenton, Hallie Fenton and Olivia Fenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown, NJ. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the A.S. Cole Son & Co. Funeral Home, 22 North Main St., Cranbury, NJ. Masks are optional for the visitation and funeral services of Beatrice E. Amend.
