<p><br /> Helena Owczarek (nee Krzyzewska)<br /> We announce the passing of Helena Owczarek at the Gimli Betel Home on&nbsp;July 29&nbsp;at the age of 98.<br /> Mom was predeceased by her parents Julian and Emilia, brother Stan and husband Walter, daughter Mary&nbsp; and son Stan.<br /> She is survived by her sister Maria Krupnik, daughter&nbsp;Zofia (Gilles), son Edward, grandchildren Stephen (Katrina), Gillian, Kevin (Michelle), Kyle (Ashley), Nicole (James) and Thomaz and also nine great grandchildren.<br /> Mom was born and married in Poland and had her four children when she was asked to come to Canada and help with the care of her aging parents. Helena and Walter settled on the farm in Fraserwood. Both parents were happy on the farm while mom enjoyed her garden and flower beds and helping with the mixed farm they had. Always a celebration when family and friends come by.<br /> Funeral Mass will be held on&nbsp;August 4&nbsp;at 11:00 a.m. in the St Michael&#39;s Roman Catholic Church, Gimli, MB, with Father Art Seaman officiating. Interment in Precious Blood Cemetery in Fraserwood. Pallbearers&nbsp;Stephen Lantagne, Kevin Zuk, Thomaz Owczarek and Ed Krupnik.<br /> We would like to thank the staff at&nbsp;Gimli&nbsp;Betel Home&nbsp; for the excellent care mom received in her stay.<br /> In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to&nbsp;Gimli&nbsp;Betel Home&nbsp;foundation or a charity of your choice.<br /> Condolences may be left on her tribute wall at&nbsp;www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.<br /> Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.<br /> &nbsp;</p>
