Carol Elizabeth Hubbard, 78, Kokomo, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  She was born in Adrian, MI, on September 20, 1943, to Flave and Betty (Suydam) Hall.  She married William Howard “Bill” Hubbard on July 19, 1969, in Kalamazoo, he preceded her in death on May 1, 2020.

Carol was a graduate of Vandercook Lake High School.  She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in education from Western Michigan University. Her life mission was to be a teacher and was passionate about teaching children how to read. She taught second grade at Howard Elementary and retired from the Northwestern School Corporation in June of 2006.  She loved spending time with her family, friends, and colleagues.   

Carol is survived by her mother, Betty Hall; children, Brian (Suzanne) Hubbard and Greg (Rachael) Hubbard; grandchildren, Gabrielle (fiancé Alex Johnson) Hubbard, Samantha Hubbard, Andrew Hubbard, David Hubbard, Benjamin Hubbard, Samuel Hubbard, Elliana Hubbard, and Thomas Hubbard; siblings, Beverly Hall Burns, Cynthia (Ron) Tabor, and Richard (Diane) Hall; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and father, Flave.

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday August 2, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. A private burial will be held in Roseland Cemetery in Francesville, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2 pm to 4 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bill and Carol Hubbard Family Scholarship Fund in care of the Community Foundation of Howard County, 215 W.
