Erik Vanhaverbeke
<p>VANHAVERBEKE, Erik (June 17, 1938 – July 27, 2022) –</p><p><br></p><p>Passed away, peacefully, after a courageous struggle with illness, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022, Erik Vanhaverbeke, a resident of RR6 Tillsonburg, at the age of 84. Erik was born in Belgium, he emigrated to Canada at the age of 10, with his parents Omer and Maria (nee Paret) VanHaverbeke and siblings. In his spare time, Erik enjoyed riding his bicycle and he was an avid fan of the Tour de France. Above all else, Erik was a proud and loving family man. Erik was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Tillsonburg. Erik is survived by his much-loved wife of 63 years, Marilyn T. (Coderre) Vanhaverbeke. Always a caring father to Brad VanHaverbeke, of Langton, proud papa to Larissa, Josh, Kyle and Dustin and special great papa to Aleah, Taylor, and Kaylee. Survived by his sisters Mary (husband Walter) and Edna. Predeceased by two much loved sons Leon (2008), Greg (1984) and by three siblings Lianna, Willmert, and Ozzie (2016).</p><p><br></p><p>In keeping with Erik’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Family Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, August 13th, 2022, in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Langton by Brother Michael Herbus, of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Friends, neighbours, and relatives are invited to offer support by sharing favourite memories, photos, letters of condolence or by contributing memorial donations to the “Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario” via Erik’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
