Thomas Dee Brewer Obituary

TSGT Thomas “Tom” Dee Brewer, 87, of Senatobia, Mississippi passed away at the Mississippi Veteran’s Home in Oxford, Mississippi, on July 26, 2022.

Tom was born September 19, 1935, in Shiloh, Arkansas, to Dee and Maude (Felts) Brewer. On August 4, 1954, he married his one and only love, JoAnn Barnes Brewer, in Hernando, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School in Joiner, Arkansas where he was quarterback of his football team, captain of the basketball team, and star pitcher of his baseball team. Tom was the Arkansas Razorback’s biggest supporter and never wasted a moment without greeting a fellow fan with a great big “Woo pig Sooie!” He rode the train from Joiner, Arkansas to St. Louis, Missouri every summer, as a child, to chase baseballs during the Cardinal’s practices. He lived every little boy’s dream and was the Cardinal’s greatest fan.

Tom loved watching westerns, wrestling, and listening to country music. His other loves were his many dogs and cats, especially WooWoo #1 and WooWoo #2, and his 2008 Razorback red Ford Ranger pickup that still only has 9,000 miles on it (he liked sitting on the porch in his rocking chair admiring it more than driving it!”

Tom was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, who served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Taiwan Straits Crises. During his tenure, he was stationed at San Pablo AFB and Moron AFB, Spain, Blytheville AFB, Arkansas, Whiteman AFB, Missouri, U-Tapao AFB, Thailand, Osan AFB, Korea, and Columbus AFB, Mississippi where he retired.

Survivors include his three daughters: Debrynda Price Davey, Sharon Peralto (Bubba), and Robynn Ross (Daniel); six grandchildren, Nathan Price, Jonathan Price, JoDee Davey, Lauryn Ross, Lee Ross, and Anna Ross and was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Calli Price, Tristan Price, Cannon Price, Hayden Price, and Bryson Price. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Barnes Brewer; parents, Dee and Maude Brewer; granddaughter, Anna Vita Kate Ross, and brother, Theodore Brewer. Pallbearers are Bubba Peralto, Nathan Price, Tristan Price, Lee Ross, Christian Yount, Cade Yount, and Cody Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Ross, Jonathan Price, and Jeremy Yount.

Tom was dedicated to the children at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW). The family requests any memorials be sent to charities that are closest to your heart. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ray Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, Mississippi. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Graveside military honors and interment will follow immediately at Senatobia Memorial Cemetery in Senatobia, Mississippi. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of arrangements.
