William Frederic Riemath

Bill was born on March 12, 1939 in Mobridge, SD to Lillie May (Nichols) and A.H. “Tiny” Riemath. In 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Jo Voshell. They have two children, Mary and John. Bill worked at the Hanford Project with GE and Battelle NW for 49 years in research and development. In 1982, he shared the IR100 award for one of the 100 most significant inventions of 1981. He was also honored to receive the Battelle Development Corporation Inventor Award. His final project was as Operations Manager for the BSEL Building at WSU Tri-Cities. Bill volunteered for 21 years with the Pasco Police Reserves. He moved up the ranks to Lieutenant. He worked 400-500 hours a year, including 21 Waterfollies weekends. Bill is survived by his wife, Jo; son, John; daughter, Mary & Dennis Morris with grandsons, Colin & Kyle. Granddaughters, Gabriela & Eric Whitemarsh with Emanuel & Elia; Stephanie & Fabian Valencia with Joaquin & Rafael. Brother, Robert & Ginny Riemath with Jason. Bill’s Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 30th at 1:00 pm at West Highlands Methodist Church, 17 S Union St., Kennewick, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pasco Police Department, Pasco Cares, 215 W Sylvester St, Pasco, WA 99301-3350
