James Harold Hawkins, 85, of Cleveland, TN passed away on July 25, 2022. He was born on August 11, 1936 to the late Frank and Nellie Ruth Hawkins. Harold was a farmer by trade and took great pride in taking care of the land by farming, gardening, and working on his farm. He loved spending time with his family and traveling to the beach. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his sister Ellen Kile. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of nearly 69 years, Alethia Hawkins, who was his 4th grade sweetheart; three children: Pam Morrison (Steve), Richard Hawkins (Beverly), Suzia Hawkins; grandchildren: Sherry Leamon (Brian), Shane Morrison (Rachel), Jeremy Adams (Shasta), Chancie Brewer (Chris), Emily Hilliard; great grandchildren: Peyton Brewer (Makayla), Balee Burns (John), Blake Leamon, Shayli Brewer (Chandler), Langlee Morrison, Eli Morrison, Brayden Adams, Tanner Leamon, and Tessa Leamon; great great grandchildren: Grayzleigh Arp and Harbor Brewer. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 11am on Thursday July 28th at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with visitation at the funeral home from 5pm until 8pm on Wednesday July 27th. He will be laid to rest at Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery following the service on Thursday with Roy Trout, James Trout, Bill Trout, Pat Bivens, Danny Hicks, Glen Burt, and Myron Hawkins all serving as honorary pallbearers.
