<p>Helen Johnson, 93, of Georgetown passed away at her home at 11:48 AM on July 23, 2022.</p> <p>Helen was born on August 31, 1928 the daughter of John and Lenora (Kirby) Koontz in Homer, IL. She married Raymond Johnson on June 27, 1947 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1991</p> <p>Survivors include her children, Diana (Harry) Mobley of Glasgow, KY, Kathryn Hodgeman of Wheatfield, IN, Twila (Willard) Wadhams of Danville, IL and Sheila (Lewis) Cooper of Georgetown, IL, her grandchildren, Annette, Joseph, Bridget, Nathan, Troy and Mark, Jr. as well as a step grandchild, Billy and ten great grandchildren.</p> <p>Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond, sons, Raymond and Rodney Johnson, sibling, John Koontz, Gladys Mariage, Marion Todd and Jesse Koontz, two grandchildren, Jared and Raymond as well as one son-in-law, Thomas Hodgeman.</p> <p>Helen enjoyed spending her free time volunteering as a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season and assisting at the Georgetown Food Pantry. She also enjoyed word searches, Sudoku, working jigsaw puzzles, and going to rummage sales. Helen loved her children and grandchildren dearly and was very fond of animals.&nbsp;</p> <p>Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois. Pastor Dan Hunt will officiate.&nbsp; Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.&nbsp;</p> <p>Memorials may be in Helen&rsquo;s memory to the Georgetown Food Pantry.</p> <p>Please join Helen&rsquo;s family in sharing memories, photos and videos on her tribute wall at&nbsp;www.sunsetfuneralhome.com&nbsp;.</p>

Helen was a friend of my Dear Aunt. She was so sweet and gentle, one of a kind. May the Lord Bless and Keep you all as you Honor her Memory. She will always be in your hearts and in Heaven, she will intercede on your behalf

Helen will definitely be missed. We used to sit by her in church and she always gave my youngest daughter a piece of candy. She was a gra d lady. My deepest condolences to the entire family.
