<p>It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of G. Patrick Gorman Q.C., which occurred on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, on March 16, 1941, he was a son of the late Gerry and Bernice (Noonan) Gorman.</p> <p>Pat is survived by his loving wife, of 58 years, Dorothy; son Joseph (Jillian) of Taipei; daughters Mary McAdam (Geoff) of Rothesay, Erin (Ron Kuzak) of Ottawa, and Kerry of Ottawa; brother Raymond (Shirley); sister Eileen all of Saint John, sister-in-laws Jill Grinstead and Nancy Likely; grandchildren Gabby (Mike Gooding), Garett, Gregor, Mya, Emmy, Macy, Cailin, and Chloe as well as several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Aside from his parents, Pat was predeceased by brothers Brian and John, and his sister Bernice.</p> <p>Pat was a graduate of St. Malachy&rsquo;s Memorial High School. He received his BA at St. Thomas University and his law degree at UNB Law School. He was a founding member and senior partner of Gorman Nason Law Firm, where he worked until his retirement. He was appointed as Queen&rsquo;s Council in 1986 and served on the Governing Board of the Barrister&rsquo;s Society and the Saint John Law Society. He was awarded an honorary lifetime membership of the Law Society of NB.</p> <p>Pat was active in supporting his community. Some of his contributions included being an elected member of the Saint John School Board, President of Simond&rsquo;s Minor Hockey Association, a member of the Rocmaura Board of Directors, a member of St. Ann&rsquo;s Church Financial Committee and a member of the Knights of Columbus.</p> <p>He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He cherished time with his family, especially Sunday breakfasts. He loved to travel and visited many places around the world with his wife and children.</p> <p>Dorothy and her children would like to extend a special thank you to Pat&rsquo;s brother Ray for his daily visits, phone calls and support he showed Pat during his illness. As well, a special thank you to Pat&rsquo;s sister Eileen and sister-in-law Shirley who were both a great comfort during this difficult time.</p> <p>The family also wishes to thank the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital&nbsp;and St. Joseph&rsquo;s Hospital who cared for Pat during his illness.</p> <p>Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). &nbsp;Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 4:00 &ndash; 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at St. Ann&rsquo;s Church at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation, the SPCA or to a charity of the donor&rsquo;s choice.</p>

The family also wishes to thank the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital who cared for Pat during his illness.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424).  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at St. Ann’s Church at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
