<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">BARNSTEAD &ndash; Joseph N. Hough, Jr., 71, of Barnstead, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 with his wife by his side.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Born on August 17, 1950 in Weymouth, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph N. and Rose A. (Goldberg) Hough.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Joe attended schools in Middleboro and Wareham, MA. He later went on to earn his Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Marine Engineering from Mass Maritime Academy. He worked for over 10 years as a Plant Manager for UNH until his retirement. Joe loved the outdoors, farming, gardening, swimming, sailing, shell fishing or any other event that might bring him to the water, fresh or salt water he enjoyed either. He worked well with his hands and spent time wood working. He was known for his haggling skills, he enjoyed knowing he got the very best deal. He enjoyed home brewing with his family, beer, wine or hard cider he tried them all. Above all else was his love for family and instilling in them the Golden Rule which he held himself to as well. He will be greatly missed.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Nancy (Ellis) Hough of Barnstead, with whom he shared 38 years with, children, Michelle Tripp of Westport, MA, Joseph Hough, III and his wife Carrie of Barnstead, Timothy Hough of Manchester and Joshua Hough of Barnstead, siblings, Linda Vaivarins and her husband Ludvigs of Plymouth, MA, Richard Hough and his wife Maryanne of Stowe, VT and Nancy Hough of Plymouth, MA, grandchildren, Julia Tripp, Ethan Tripp, Abigail Hough and Joseph Hough, IV, &nbsp;as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and never forgotten was his constant companion, Maddie his dog.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 4pm-6pm at the Roan Family Funeral Home &ndash; Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11Am in Riverview Cemetery, Parade Road, Barnstead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Lake Winnipesaukee Sailing Association, P. O. Box 7047, Gilford, NH 03247 or to the New Hampshire Snowmobile Museum Association, P. O. BARNSTEAD – Joseph N. Hough, Jr., 71, of Barnstead, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 with his wife by his side.

Born on August 17, 1950 in Weymouth, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph N. and Rose A. (Goldberg) Hough.
