Denise McLaurin-Morris, daughter of the late Ether and Hattie Bell McLaurin was born on April 13, 1953, in Wilmington, Delaware. She departed this life peacefully on June 26, 2022. Denise was a graduate of Wilmington High School’s class of 1971, where she was a member of the school’s Orchestra, playing first violin. Denise enjoyed reading novels, traveling, listening to music, and shopping excursions out of town. She had a lovely spirit and enjoyed joking and laughing with her brother Bob and sister Pam. Denise was a devoted aunt and godmother and was a faithful servant of Bethany U.A.M.E. Church. Denise was employed at Applied Bank where she worked as a manager for 22-years until her retirement.

Denise was preceded in death by her sisters Yvonne McLaurin, and Lillian Pamela Watson, and her youngest brother David M. McLaurin Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory three brothers Ether McLaurin III(Cheryl) of Pompano Beach, Florida; Gregory McLaurin (Peggy) of Dover, Delaware; Eric McLaurin (Eileen) of New Castle, Delaware; and adopted brother Thomas Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina. First cousins Retha Fisher (Roland) of Wilmington, Delaware; Pier Bronson of Wilmington, Delaware; Shelly Bronson of Wilmington, Delaware; and Elton McLaurin of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
