Connie Lee Gardiner Obituary

Connie Lee Gardiner of Brandon, formerly of Pierson, beloved wife of Dale, dear mother of Kisty and Kyle, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, July 17th, 2022, on her 64th birthday, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Connie was born in Minot, North Dakota to Edward and Marlene Benson.  She was raised on the family farm near Maxbass, with her loving family, including her sister Debbie and brother David.  Connie attended school in Maxbass and graduated in 1976.

Connie met her soul mate, Dale, in 1978 and they were married on July 7th, 1979 at the Benson family farm.  Connie had two children, a daughter, Kisty, born in 1981 and a son, Kyle, born in 1986.  Connie ran the family household until she became employed with Canada Post, where she worked for 27 years until her retirement.

Connie was a special person who loved hard, who went out of her way for her family and friends and had a big warm smile and a laugh like no other. She will be missed by so many.

Connie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dale Gardiner; daughter, Kisty Argue (Colby); son, Kyle Gardiner (Alana); her five special grandchildren, Summer, Rylan, Silver, Aksel and Rosalee; parents, Edward and Marlene Benson; sister, Debbie Huber (Gary); brother, David Benson; brother-in-law, Kevin Gardiner (Melba); sister-in-law, Pamela Gardiner and numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie was predeceased by her grandma and grandpa, Raymond and Myrtle Olson and Ernest and Ethel Benson; niece, Renae Huber; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Thelma Gardiner; and brother-in-law, Terry Gardiner.

A Celebration of Connie's life was held on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Imperial Ballroom, Victoria Inn, 3550 Victoria Avenue West, Brandon, MB. with (rev.) Heather Sandilands officiating. The interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in memory of Connie can be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation "Palliative Care", 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB., R7A 2B3, www.brhcfoundation.ca. 

Connie's favorite color was red so please feel free to wear red on the day we celebrate Connie's life, whether in person or remembering from afar.
