Exeter, NH Betty Jean Lusona, 97, died on July 15, 2022 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. She was born in Exeter, NH on January 5, 1925, the daughter of the late Earl H. Stewart and Ethelind M. (Hoyt) Stewart. A longtime resident of Exeter, Betty grew up in East Kingston, NH and was a graduate of Sanborn Academy. She also formerly resided briefly in Boston, MA while working as a secretary at the Lahey Clinic. For over 35 years, she worked as the executive secretary at the Exeter Inn. She was very active in town affairs and was a member of Exeter Jr. Women’s Club where she formerly served a term as President. She was a talented knitter and seamstress and in her younger days she enjoyed fishing and figure skating. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, being with family was her greatest pleasure. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends, as well as her daughter Cindy’s friends and families . She was predeceased by her husband John D. Lusona Sr. who died in 1984, and two brothers, Glenn and Robert Stewart. She is survived by three children, Claudia Houghton of Exeter, NH, Cynthia Lusona of Exeter, NH and John D. Lusona Jr. and his wife Sandy, of Hanover, NH; 4 grandchildren Nissa Landry, Christian Houghton, Samara Kranz, and Jake Lusona; as well as six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM and burial will follow at the Exeter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at https://www.cff.org/
